The $70 AMD Athlon X4 860K is a set piece for casual gaming!
Although released over a year ago, the Athlon X4 860K still manages enough to catch attension of gamers. People desire to get more by giving less. This $70 thing can easily fulfill the needs of millions of gamers out there looking to game cheap.
Now before going to discuss the specs, let me tell you that heatsink and a fan come along the box Lets now have a look at the specications of Athlon X4 860K. Firstly, this is a quad-core processor of 3.7 GHZ at normal. Amd's Turbo frequency when turned on, it easily reaches 4.0 GHZ frequency. This also comes up with the FM2+ socket and can support 64 bit data width. There is a 2*2 (MB) L2 Cache memory but no L3 Cache (a drawback to be precise). To reach to its Maximum performance of 4.4 GHZ, you need to overclock but remember to use a nice air cooler. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, a highly popular $35 budget air cooler will do the work. It supports 2133 MHZ Ram which becomes 2400 MHZ when overclocked. Now this is a plus point for gamers. And, this consumes 95 Watt.
Here is a comparison which I found on the Internet. This clearly represents the "VS Intel G3258"
This was particularly discussed for people looking for a cheap build but if anyone of you can spend abit more on the processor, I'll recommend you AMD FX-6300 - Old but gold!
